The Mongoose

  • The Mongoose is part of the Herpestidae family.
  • The plural for Mongoose is Mongeese.
  • They eat insects, crabs, earthworms, lizards, snakes, chickens and rodents.
  • Some species are popularily used to fight and kill venomous snakes. Even King Cobras.
  • Mongeese have thick coats and high resistance to venom.
  • The dwarf Mongoose is just over a foot long, while the crab-eating Mongoose is about four feet long.
  • Some breeds of Mongoose are nocturnal while some aren’t.
  • Mongeese are immune to some snake bites, but one that it isn’t immune to is the Viper.
  • The Mongoose is very playful and can be kept as a pet.

This is a yellow mongoose.
