"THE winter wind is loud and wild,
Come close to me, my darling child;
Forsake thy books, and mateless play;
And, while the night is gathering grey,
We'll talk its pensive hours away;–"

Dancing Popcorn

Materials:

Popcorn Kernels
Water
Plastic Cup
1 Teaspoon
1 Tablespoon
Sodium Bicarbonate
Vinegar

What To Do:

1. Fill the plastic cup with water until it’s 3 quarters full.
2. Measure half a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate.
3. Add the sodium bicarbonate to the water and then stir it until it dissolves.
4. Add 4 popcorn kernels to the water.
5. Add a tablespoon of vinegar to the water.
6. Watch closely for 2 minutes.

I Predict:

I predict that the popcorn kernels will sit in the water for a little while and then some bubbles will attach to the kernels. Then the kernels will start floating to the top. I think the bubbles will pop once the kernels reach to top. Then they will float down and keep doing that.
